Amid busy and chaotic daily routines, it’s easy to perceive a piece of furniture as nothing more than a functional object. After all, a chair has four legs, a seat and a back. A table, simply a surface held up by a solid base.
The mundanity and practicality of chairs, tables, and sofas mostly outweigh the quality and originality of their design process, rendering them invisible to the creative eye. Becoming desensitised to the creation process, we often overlook what makes a good design: the details.
In a world full of designs, those that pay attention to subtle details and finesse are the most memorable. Details are the enemy of habituation; the more refined a design is, the less it fades into our routines.
At Parla, we approach design with caution, precision, and an unwavering attention to detail. With an extensive and dynamic team of in house designers and external design collaborators, despite our mass manufacturing capabilities, every piece in our Collection is carefully calculated to have the highest standards of detail and quality of design. Because we know that the difference between good and great is the attention to detail.
Some examples of the pieces in our Collection that we bring this vision to life are:
Fau A Chair, Kilit Taşı Design Studio
The Fau chair, coming in two different styles, awes us with its beauty. In collaboration with designer Kunter Sekercioglu, this wonderful design stands out with its light and curvy structure while providing comfortable seating. Recognised for its thoughtful and high-quality design, the Fau chair received the Good Design Award in 2022 and the German Design Award in 2024.
Nigiri Armchair, Betül İnci
Our Director of Design and Project Management, Betül İnci’s Nigiri Armchair displays a mix of contemporary and Asian-style aesthetics. The distinctive structural lines highlight the detailed work of our craftsmen and provide a gentle support for the backrest. Awarded with a Reddot in 2025, this design guarantees a long-lasting use and timeless elegance.
Cora Armchair, Seda Yetkiner
Our Assistant Product Development Manager and designer, Seda Yetkiner’s Cora Armchair presents the perfect example of a smooth transition, from the backrest to the chair’s legs. The careful choice of material and form is what makes this piece a detailed and well-thought-out design. Also, the recipient of an IF Design Award.
Rimo Armchair, Berrak İlkcan Şener
One of our highly skilled designers, Berrak İlkcan Sener’s Rimo Armchair comprises a carefully-constructed minimal frame with PVD coating and soft upholstery. The rounded backrest is executed beautifully, symbolising a warm embrace and providing the ultimate comfort.
Flento Side Table, Berrak İlkcan Şener & Yasemin Derici Çeri
A collaborative design output, the Flento side table, makes a statement with sophisticated metal embellishment applied to a wooden base, softened and made inviting by gentle curves. The Flento side table works alongside many other pieces in our Collection, giving a fresh perspective to classic and sophisticated looks.
As a result of our commitment to great design, we have also worked with numerous internationally-renowned luxury hospitality firms and designers. Here are some examples:
Loop Sofa, Matthew Goodrich & Hines Fischer
NYC-based Goodrich’s design practice is grounded in hospitality expertise, offering branding, interior design, custom furniture and product design services. After our first collaboration with them, which birthed the Hew collection introduced at IMM Cologne 2024, we got to work on our second design project, the Loop collection. Parla developed their design sketch and were able to bring to life a collection of oversized pieces with inviting, rounded, soft volumes.
Palm Daybed, Jean-Michel Wilmotte
Needless to point out the reputation of the French architect, urban planner and designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte, his designs reflect a love for art, elegance and detail. It was up to us to execute his vision, so we did with our Palm Collection. “Inside, outside: a new praise of the dark” is how Jean-Michel explains his design ethos for the collection, which was awarded a Reddot in 2025.
Our role as a global supplier in luxury hospitality wouldn’t have been possible without an unwavering commitment to detail for great design. As we look ahead, originality and meticulous craftsmanship will continue to shape everything we create.
