Shining a Light on the Cruise Ship Sector

June 5, 2022

Parla is exhibiting at the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Miami, 7 – 8 June 2022. This is the first time that we have showcased our products at a cruise ship event anywhere in the world – a result of increasing interest from the sector in its products and our increasing global presence with projects and distributors in the USA, UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Amongst the pieces that visitors to the stand will discover are Parla’s two most recently award winning chairs – Rimo Armchair, which won a Bigsee Product Award and Nigiri Chair, winner of a Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture & Design. They will be joined by the Hug Sofa, a beautiful lounge piece, the softly rounded Oyster W Armchair and the Atlas Chair whose fine silhouette belies its comfort.

A selection of side tables reflect our design-led approach to harmonising the artisanal with the fine workmanship assured by the our state-of-the-art factory. Tofu Table with its sculptural base and magnificent marble, glass or timber top, the sophisticated London Low Coffee Table and the Goba T Coffee Table designed for outdoor settings with Iroko legs and a choice of marble tops will all be shining bright at the Expo.

A range of bar stools are clustered in front of a specially designed and manufactured bar, giving witness to the many one-of-a-kind hospitality projects delivered by us in recent years. Included in the bar stools that will be on show are the elegantly crafted Flento Bar Stool, the Sabien Bar Stool which pays homage in its details to couture luxury handbag design, and the striking Bloom E Bar Stool, ideal for outdoor use.

Betul Inci, Head of Design at Parla, said: “We are a family business whose history goes back 4 generations; this gives us authentic roots of craftmanship and a deep knowledge of what the hospitality sector is looking for, but we are also a young and empowered design team inspired by creating contemporary furniture for a wide range of hospitality schemes, from hotels, bars and restaurants to cruise ships. In our homeland Turkey, Parla means ‘to shine’. Our purpose is to do just that in terms of design, commercial sensibility, service and innovation.”
