Tuğçe Yakup’s intention in creating Rise was to challenge the boundaries of the production techniques and materials used at Parla. Being a rounded product, the design requires a high level of expertise to bring its shape to life while ensuring ergonomic qualities and maintaining simplicity. For Rise, master metal craftsman İbrahim Yeşilyurt uses a unique machine to bend the metal—a machine he never allows anyone else to use. This product is therefore a testament to the special bonds that form between designs and their makers throughout the production process.
