Coined ‘a tranquil sanctuary in the middle of Istanbul’s Old City’ by the Four Seasons brand, the newly refurbished hotel really is a peaceful spot in between the chaotic charms of the historic peninsula.
Previously a prison, this century old neo classical style building has been home to the Four Seasons hotel experience for over 25 years; now refreshed and renewed, it is the ultimate in serene luxury, a refreshing oasis in the middle of it all.

True to character Four Seasons has made the most of a building with a quirky story; working well with the history and architecture of the building architectural practice Goddard Littlefair has brought out elements and layers beautifully, blending the old with the new in a very tasteful way.
The colour schemes, the materials and the furniture all blend together and create a relaxed and contemporary environment, enhancing the experience of pleasure when spending time in the hotel.

We really enjoyed collaborating on this project. Working closely with Goddard Littlefair, we were able to assist in supplying the project with a wealth of items, that included loose & fitted furniture, wall panelling, fencing and doors. All in all, quite a rounded hospitality interiors package, we set to work to bring the vision into reality.
The different types of dining seating meant that we could really push the boundaries of our signature manufacturing style – combining materials and bringing the best out of them. Using a variety of woods, stained in different colours, alongside upholstery and metal, helping develop the designs technically and bringing the project to fruition professionally is what we thrive on, and this project was no different. To be able to add to the continuation of history, is in many ways like being part of history itself – the idea that our furniture is a witness to this brings a smile to our faces…

So next time you are planning a visit to Istanbul, we recommend you seriously consider staying at this hotel; its landscaped courtyard, where inmates used to exercise when it was a prison, its roof terrace with the perfect view of Haghia Sophia, its amazing spa, and its 65 bedrooms make it a haven from the hectic lives we all lead. Transporting you to a different era whilst accommodating you in comfort and style, Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet is a must, even if for a cup of Turkish coffee and a piece of Turkish delight.
