The transformation of the former Hilton Athens into Conrad Athens The Ilisian brings new life to one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks — blending its mid-century heritage with a contemporary vision for luxury hospitality.
Originally this hotel, when it opened in 1963, was the first international hotel in Greece, where royalty, celebrities and shipping magnates stayed in Athens.
We were very proud to work alongside repeat client TEMES S.A. to contribute to this landmark refurbishment, creating bespoke furniture for the hotel’s public spaces and suites as part of the wider design vision by AvroKO, alongside working to bring to life the aims set by Parisian designer Tristan Auer when crafting pieces for the Byzantino Grande Brasserie.
“This was a great project to work on, two (all female) project management teams from our side and Temes, worked seamlessly and efficiently to deliver iconic furniture, some of which were multi material pieces, where we took on the challenge of working with various beautiful natural stones and natural leathers.” said Zeynep Ilbars, our EU Sales Manager.
Our bespoke furniture forms part of the wider experience of the hotel creating a feeling that considered rather than conspicuous. From considered proportions and tactile materials to the craftsmanship and performance required for a busy luxury hotel, every piece was made to complement the architecture and become part of the experience.
This project is a reminder that successful hospitality furniture is often about balance: between aesthetics and performance, individuality and consistency, craftsmanship and efficiency.
A project where heritage, design and craftsmanship come together.
A project that is in line with Parla’s values of 116 years!
