A showcase of luxury interior design exhibitors, Decorex 2024, came to life at Olympia Events from 12 to 15 October, and we were very glad to be center stage with out furniture as one of the sponsors of the bar! The fair consisted of an impeccable curation of events, charity initiatives, artisans and of course, designers. This creative hub certainly attracted many and kept very busy throughout the 4 days. A series of discussions, coined Design Talks, tackled dilemmas from sustainability to conscious design, as well as dive deep into future trends and the role of AI in creative fields, with over 85 speakers. It would be a fair observation to say that the overall theme of the exhibition was contemporary meets tradition, as most designers paid tribute to British traditionalism while taking inspiration from Scandinavian simplicity. Over a hundred exhibitors displayed their take on high-end design: many furniture brands were inspired by the idyllic British countryside, with a few modern takes featuring the Italian Natuzzi and Portuguese Mamoa.

Craft was a central theme throughout, with The Lovelace armchair by Yagmur Arifoglu for Mamoa being one of the show-stoppers of the fair, alongside Another Country’s woodwork chairs. Bespoke solutions to nitty-gritty details also stood out amongst the exhibitors, with customizable hand-made rugs to high-quality ambient lighting that is cost-effective, it was possible to find the right fit for any project. Lighting company Pooky’s stand, next to the Decorex main bar, was an eye-catching installation of miniature lamps of many colors and shapes.

Speaking of the main bar, designed by Brady Williams, it was easily the centre point of the whole show, providing a cozy atmosphere in the middle of the bustling crowd. The bar was also an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission, Furnishing Futures, which is a charity providing furnished homes for women and children escaping abusive households. The spacious setting was furnished by Parla, Natuzzi and Barstools with lighting support from Astro. The navy, beige and green color scheme was enough to present a zen and cozy vibe. While the cool tones meshed well with the overall atmosphere of the fair, it also stood out to be a vibrant hub for visitors to sit down and enjoy a drink or two. As Parla, it was both meaningful and thrilling to be one of the sponsors of the bar, supporting a good cause, showcasing the quality of our products and co-sponsoring alongside other reputable companies. We were happy to see that the visitors enjoyed the armchairs from our various collections. Many comfortable moments to reconnect and rejuvenate!
